As 2014 draws to a close, it's time to take a peek at the exhibitions coming up in Paris and London in early 2015. They're not exactly shabby. Paris has two mouth-watering blockbusters opening in March: Velazquez at the Grand Palais (promising, given the high standards the Grand Palais keeps), and Bonnard at the Musee d'Orsay (equally promising, given France's rich collection of Bonnards). You can see a Velazquez on the right (courtesy of RMN website). Opening in London in February are Marlene Dumas at Tate Modern (the first big U.K. show devoted to the South African-born contemporary artist) and John Singer Sargent (portraits of fellow artists and friends) at the National Portrait Gallery.
